I was also unsure, until I saw the tugs take up station. Then I saw that the white banners were there to prevent the hull from becoming dirty!

I must say, I took a tour of the YANCHENG (no photos inside!) and she was spotless, in tip-top shape. Would never have thought she had spent over five months at sea.

I never got to see the actual mess or personnel quarters. There is a smartly dressed sailor at every intersection, directing you with white gloves in the direction of their choosing. :lol:
