Correct Dean..for working on fire.was bought for a cool 2mil dollars.By Leading Edge Mark Jackson.

A 1980 model still with the old instrumentation. Construction number 70-204 US ARMY serial 80-23446

I been waiting eagerly for this to finally happen..there is talk of a second one being imported,I hope so.

For a helicopter nut this is amazing,I just hope we get to see it flying soon..well up north as well..But I guess you Cape Town guys will see it first, its fire time.

Some more pictures from Mark.

Painting is now completed,The Black Hawk is now on the SA register ZT-RGA,all in white with yellow tail stripe. Will be based at Nelspruit working on fire used for fire fighting.Pictures copyright Hylton Spencer.

Interesting note: the engine HIRSS exhaust shields where left on for heat seeking missiles #-o ..and most likely done so to protect the body and paint from prolonged hovering with fire fighting operations.

All the other Military operations Chaff and flares and IRCM Sanders AN/ALQ-144 where removed before delivery to SA.

Can see pic's this side no prob..

Yes ZT strange but yes all new helicopter registrations are ZT,The original starting with R..eg.ZS-RPL have all been used..and eg..ZT-THS starting with T has been reserved for drones registrations.
