So while I'm waiting for the decals of the Phantom to arrive, I dug this one out of the stash.

It will be the first time I will be using so much PE. Damn, some of these things are small. Already shot some of into space. I will only be using some of it to enhance the plane.

Some PE fitted.

The Interior Green is mixed as per the instructions.

Tried my hand at making a wood finish for the interior. Tamiya XF59, Vallejo Natural Wood and then a brush with some Raw Sienna oil paints.

And some better pics.

Hey Ant,

Cockpit details looks great (The seatbelts really add something to the atmosphere) :smt023

Clever idea to put masking tape on the back of the PE parts but why would you want a wood finish for the interior?

Regards,
Stratobat

It is not "wood" it is the reddish colour that the WW2 era RAF doped fabric had :)

Looking great AntMustard :smt023 Nothing like a Tamiya 48th scale kit to get the modelling mojo back !!

Here's the real thing (but without floats) seen at Duxford Flying Legends 2011 :

Thanks guys.

Jip Mistral. The Tamiya kits are great to boost the enthusiasm again.

Here are some more pics.

Very nice build so far. I especially like the engine. Could be from a bigger scale the way it looks
