Right... in the interest of being thorough... I am conducting a test on two identical canopies.

One set will be done using Mr Muscle (in the blue bottle), and the other will be done using Pledge one step (lavender was all I could get, and wasnt going to shell out the price for the 5L job).

Both canopies were polished in identical fashion prior to being dipped and left for 24 hours.

I've just dipped the Pledge canopy now.... Check back about this time tomorrow for photo results. I wont tell you which is which and we can see how they hold up to each other.

Right... its the moment of truth...

And its not even worth posting pictures...

As I suspected all along, the Mr Muscle (blue bottle), was the better of the two. The canopy dipped in Pledge dried with a residue on it, along with a cloudy/dirty finish.

Test over.

For my vote... Mr Muscle in the blue bottle seems to work better. My next test with it, will be to airbrush it onto a model and see how it dries (gloss?).

Hi guys! Where I can get Mr. Muscle Floor Polish in Pretoria? I've seen only Mr. Muscle Tile cleaner, bath cleaner, carpet cleaner and stuff like that.

You can get it in Spar, or Pick n Pay.

If that fails try makro. I use the blue bottle Mr. Muscle....

I was looking at PnP, Spar, Makro there is no Mr. Muscle Floor Polish. There are plenty of Mr Muscle stuff but they are mostly cleaners. What is the correct name for the product you use? Maybe you can post a picture of it? Thanks!

In South Africa look for "Mr. Muscle" in a pink plastic bottle with the "Future" logo on the bottom of the label or Johnsons "One Step" which is chemically identical to "Future".

Swanny's models had this to say. Additionally Future is available in Australia as Pledge one go.

I saw the article but maybe it's too old because currently there is no Mr. Muscle Floor Polish at Pretoria's shops. I was able to find Pledge One Step but according to Portamus' test it's not so good.

Seeing that getting hold of proper future is next to impossible, I did manage to source a supplier for Novus plastic polish. Please see www.soitec.co.za.

Just to check. Do you want this for canopies or gloss varnish. If gloss varnish, use Tamiya X-22 acrylic in the big bottles thinned with Tamiya lacquer thinners in the square plastic bottle. It works like a bomb. If for canopies, rather don't. I see guys doing canopies dipped in future which are too bright for scale effect. Just my thoughts on the matter. :smt023

For canopies. I read rave reviews of this, even removes fine scratches and blemishes.

Pegasus is present at the monthly GRSM meeting at Saxonwold War Museum peddling their wares. Why not pop around and meet some fellow modellers. It's tomorrow.

Would have loved to, but work has other plans for me. We have a major deployment today.
