Hi there,

I have been trying to find info on joining the SANDF.

It appears that only candidates until the age of 22 can join (graduates, 25). I believe this limit is flexible if special skills are involved?

I am 27 years old and wanted to join the SANDF. I realize I am over the age limit and I am not a graduate (no specialised skills). I have come across situations like this on the internet, but the queries remain unanswered. Is there any way an individual such as myself can join the SA Army in a corps of choice such as Armour, Artillery, Air Defence Artillery, etc.?

I was told to inquire at the Lisbon Building in Pretoria, but I am not sure whether this is the way to go. I am a Caucasian female, so I am thinking this might be problematic?

Can anyone shed light on this?

As you mentioned, your age may be problematic without prior experience or specialist skills.
