Hey Madiba, thanks for the interest . I didnt make it. Was my lungs that let me down. Lung function showed I have small-airways obstruction disease...which is not as serious as it sounds. They recommended that I go for becoming a navigator, but im not too keen for that...Im not sure why its fine for being a navigator but not a pilot.
Navigators are in the same environment as the pilot, but I guess its not as big a deal if I pass out at 30 000 ft as it would have been if I were a pilot, although one does have an oxygen mask the Gripen as well as the PC-7, and the C-130s are pressurized , and helicopters very rarely fly up to 10 000ft, which leaves the cessna, and it is unfortunately not pressurized. 10 000ft is where the Cessna's fly up to, and this is where they said I would have problems in an unpressurized aircraft. Did some research and apparently even a normal person will start getting symptoms of hypoxia after 2 hours at 10 000ft.
But with the help of a docter Im going too fix these lungs of mine, and the culprit there is allergies, so ill get it under control and go back to the IAM and hopefully they will be grateful enough to let me try the lung function again , as this is the only thing I need to pass still. Its tough hearing it from the doctors, but yeah, I believe im still in it!
All the best
