The mix of AK and M4 rifles is "interesting" - logistically very inefficient.

A reliable source informs me that its actually a Chinese 'version' of the M4(NORINCO CQ), was so naive to think that the Namibian government would buy weapons from the 'west'. I agree with u but then it seems that all services are going their own 'different ways'...The Air Force has just adopted its own cammo..the Marines have their own cammo too as well #-o #-o Its like non of them want to be associated with the Army cammo

No white Namibians in uniform in these photos, even though they are about 7% of the total population. The SANDF are under some pressure to increase their white recruit numbers, so it would be interesting to know if similar issues occur in Namibia too.

We dont have similar issues here as we do not have racial quotas in the armed forces. Though our previous president did express his concern there isint enough white people in the force. No active measures are there to address specific races to enlist.
Things are complicated here in Namibia and serving isn't as 'respected 'as down there in ZA.

I notice the Communist goose step march. This is typical of liberation movements in the Southern African region as they were schooled in Communist ideology during the Cold War proxy wars fought in this region. Strange anomaly is that they refuse to shake off this unworkable ideology post liberation.

If i recall correctly Namibia actually did the 'commonwealth' march until like about 5 years ago..They switched to the Russian march and one of the reasons they gave was that it is more 'entertaining'....But hey what do i know :? :?

It definitely belongs there....The majority of the Army equipment consists of stuff 'donated' by SWAPO to the Government at Independence...

How has ~12 years of peace affected the Angolan Army?
The war between MPLA and UNITA continued for more than a decade after the withdrawal of South Africa, Cuba and Namibian indepence.
Apparently the Angolan army is still the largest in terms of number of people, but what is their quality like? Has their equipment been kept up to date?
