Since when do tanks not have windows? The photographer is an officer at the School of Armour, so I trust his description of the photo.

The reason why at first I thought it was a Ratel was see site http://www.warwheels.net/Ratel90FSVvanAardt.html the middle picture shows it best. I'm used to seeing "periscopes" and "slits" on tanks. So when that pic was posted it made me think of the Ratel which have large windows. I certainly hope those where extremely bullet proof glass ones !!

I think those "windows" are referred to as vision blocks

Hi Guys, well it seems that the IPMSSA.ZA.Org has been down for some time. And the Archive.org way back machine does not have a full copy of anything there. the only thing I found there for the Olifant was this link

http://gallery2.ipmssa.za.org/main.php?g2_itemId=29481

and when you go there it says "This Account Has Been Suspended" .. this is the AFV model Centurion conversion (NATO) into the Olifant. By any chance has anyone made a copy of the conversion article from them ? that can pass on to me.. I would appreciate it. B.

I don't have or recall the conversion article ... but I do have the 500+ walk-around images that were in the gallery if you want these? If you want them, drop me an email address via PM & I'll send them to you in batches ... it's around 100mb total.

Cheers
