SADC Special Forces Exercise Valo Do Keve,Angola

I've been following this site for quite a number of years and i realized how little attention SADC SF exercises get attention on here apart from the Namibian mishap(the drowning of the operators)

That's a salute with a rifle. All ways been like that.

Correct - when marching with a rifle, the salute is across the chest as seen in the photo. Nothing "commie-esque" about it

Ah, thanks. Just never saw it in photos of pre-94 nor have I seen western armies use it. Thought there might have been some attempt to bring some of the commie marches taught to MK and the like into the SANDF.
