Built the SANDF out of the ashes of apartheid.
I did not know the SADF was reduced to ashes, I did I get this wrong?

Terrorising our neighbours.
Well sir, while you were in Mozambique, when you sent your men to strike targets in SA, we struck back at you, where the orders were given, the ANC sitting in Mozambique, not the locals in Mozambique. It is called self defence. Return to sender.

This can get me really going, what with this old rhetoric from them? Where is the nation building bringing South African together?

Edit: I forgot, the elections are comming up. But the SANDF is a national possesion, not a party possesion.

The rubbish being spouted in that video is breathtaking.

The armed forces are not in fine fettle, as is stated in that video.
And most certainly, it can not "accomplish any task that can be thrown at it".

The reason is the chronic underfunding and political and racial undertones to advancement.

Need evidence?

The parade had a lot of museum vehicles, immaculately maintained with private donations.

6 artillery pieces are operational, the rest mothballed.
ditto for the Rooikat, tanks........etc etc.

I would like to know how the defense force/politicians in SA think they can have a viable defense with such a low/small active component. I think they are neglecting their constitutional duties! :-x :-x

Another thing is this guy that calls himself the president of the people of SA, and then he make speeches like this and think he is doing SA a service! [-X
Really
How do the ANC think we can build a nation, and patriotism, with this kind of sh!t being coughed up by their leader. He certainly is not making me feel part of this "new SA" at all. Neither any person that I showed that video to, some of them are my African colloquies . They all agreed that kind of propaganda/rhetoric does not bode well for "nation building"! The problem is that the ANC does not comprehend the difference between party politics and national leadership. This guy is the leader of the ANC and the president of SA. That podium he used for his propaganda is a national podium, and should be used as such. This is precisely the reason why I do not respect this a-hole at all [-X Respect should be deserved and he certainly does not deserve that :smt093

I take exception against the assertion and implication that the SADF was used as an evil tool to kill and terrorise, by implication, innocent people in neighbouring states. This is the same as steadfastly spreading the assertion that someone killed his neighbour with brute force but disingenuously omitting to mention that the neighbour was busy stabbing him with a flick knife before he fired at the neighbour in self defence.

It is utterly disingenuous to keep up the nationally divisive propaganda based on known lies to obviously signal solidarity with old African friends of the ANC political party (not the national government which comprise members of other political parties too and who is supposed to represent the entire country, not only the supporters of the ANC political party) to the detriment of national unity. This was done on the platform of the national, not ANC party, defence force event. It is utterly regrettable that the president of South Africa is totally unable to distinguish between the ANC political party and the national government.

"soldiers who keep away (sic)...awaKE at night..." =D>
