Hi guys, to those of you who sort of know me i will sadly be leaving our shores for ever to join a tiny South Pacific army - sometimes referred to as the New Zealand army.

Reasons for this are simple - i am a New Zealander that has been residing for the past eighteen years (out of twenty-five) and am not a South African citizen - hence no can army here :(

I have selected "IFO or Information Systems Officer" as my trade, secondly is a Rifleman and lastly a Field Engineer.

Will be leaving on September the 30th and am bound for Christchurch which is a beautiful (town by SA standards) on the South Island.

Will keep you all posted on progress and best of luck to my fellow future brothers in arms here in South Africa.

Goose

Hi Goose,

Cool stuff mate, I wish you the best of luck for the future, as it stands now you've got better hopes as an IFO in the NZ military than in the SA Army (though we're all fervently hoping the situation drastically improves).
Well, we're going to miss you, but you really must keep in touch, and send us some stories from NZ to broaden our horizons a little (for instance my knowledge of the NZ military is virtually nil).

Once again, good luck, and have fun.

Cheers

Darren
