Awesome. You have to take a serious number of memory cards to these shows. |

RIAT is the last place you want to start counting photographs. Memory cards were one of my main concerns as it has a bearing on the gear you take with. there are two approaches: 1) Take as many memory cards as you need for whole the week, so for example if you go for 6 days take six memory cards. This saves on taking extra gear, but can be expensive depending on the camera used especially if you take more than one camera. 2) Plan for memory requirements for one day, then take with your lap top and external hard drive. This means you have to travel with more gear which becomes cumbersome, also you have work in the evenings to transfer images. After a long day watching a status bar slowly scroll left to right is the last thing one wants to do. I opted for option 2. |

Must admit, I go for option 2 too (for both cameras). |

RAF, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. An emotional moment; my friend who attended RIAT with me; his grandfather was in the RAF during the war but was stationed in South Africa and had in fact logged time on the Hurricane that is on display in SA Military Museum. As for me I nearly wept (but didn't) when I saw the Lancaster for the first time. |
