Wow. Very well done Piera. =D> I love the three-tone EG scheme.

Next one, dirty the underside a bit. That would add a bit of realism.

Keep it up!

BTW is that an AN-2 on the workbench?

Very good looking camo job Piera. I reckon that's worth bringing to the next GRSM meet, last Saturday of June. Great job :smt023

Thanx for the kind words gents, she was a bitch to build, but very happy to have her up on display finally. There are flaws like the yellow band on the nose that shouldn't be there and I stuffed up the windscreen by removing it and when I applied the final humbrol matt clear enamel, it turned white on me, but I think the paint might have been old and the weather was too cold, managed to get it looking better after another acrylic gloss clear and another humbrol matt from a new tin.
That is an old antonov I built before I really got into the hobby, never painted it, so now I use it as a paint test subject.
Unfortunately I wont be able to go to the GRSM meet, but would really like to go some time in the near future :smt023

Thanks Piera for the complements.
I will confess that my camera is biased to me, hiding the defects.

Update, Future is brushed on, decals are calling.

Now, I'm wondering how that 1/32 Mig-29 UB/GT is doing?
The last we saw of it, it was in the paint shop?

Enough with the suspense JN. Get it done will you. I'm curious to see how she looks with the decals.

I'm trying to get it done, trust me.
This build and the Gripen are one problem after another.

Some folk would have packed them in a box and put them deep into their stash, out of sight.

Well, this kit demanded attention to build. It was my third attempt at this boxing (including the 29UB) and I really deviated from the instructions that assisted to align parts which reduced struggling to align parts, filling and sanding. I almost had no filling and sanding on this build.
It was a bit of a drain, but no where near as bad as my recent Gripen, in the end I can say I enjoyed the result.
Finding photograhpic evidence with clear detail was stressful, as I got close to the end of the build I found some antenas and probes had to be deleted or added, the kit is for this aircraft, but Academy got it wrong.
Academy's drawing for colours are horribly wrong, they have 3 colour upper surface camouflage, I see 4 in photo's.
Decal detail is crappy, the "604" was missing. Thanks to the forum member who came to my rescue with some good decals. :smt023

This aircraft is of the last flight under NVA withe the date in the yellow lightning bolt.
I noticed under Luftwaffe service, they made the date a bit smaller

The underside of these aircraft is filthy from the photo's I saw, DDR out of money to clean aircraft?
First I sprayed some oil colour under the engines. While wiping ink around panel lines, I discovered I could apply convincing streaks. Camera as per usual doe not do justice to what I did achive.

Hope you guys did not mind the head twisting, I tired to fill the photo's as much as possible.

Very smart JN. This doesn't look like a bad kit at all. I don't like Academy decals and think aftermarket decals is a must even though you might be making the same subject as the box offering. Again, well done. :smt023

The decals were crappy, alignment of black, red, yellow was off on every decal. There was missing detail on the NVA markings and the the badge. There was no red 604 that go on the engine intakes. You saved the day.

The kit is very difficult to line up the plastic, a lot of twisting.
The two upper fuselage sections, I glued it in 5 steps, one step is glue one section and hold twiste plastic till glue has taken hold.
Mounted air intakes onto lower fuselage before attaching lower and upper fuselage halves took a lot of pain.
Many other steps deviating from instructions, otherwise you are going to face a lot of filling and sanding, of which I had almost non in this build. Ask Piera.
You need a bang seat.

Or go for the Great Wall product, leap years ahead in detail, this build did turn out well for me with some sweat.
