No, I asked if anybody has any photos of the interior of the Albat. But I haven't gotten a response yet, so I would assume that nobody has. Then, the rear pax seats, do they only have a lap belt, or would they have a proper 4/5 point harness? Also does the rear door also have little curtains or like the other fixed windows?

And I only got some of the colours yesterday afternoon. Vallejo is not the easiest paint to get.

I have made some progress on my Shack but not quite ready for pics - hoping to put fuselage & wings together in next day or so

Can someone tell me how to post photos? It's not just a case of copy & paste here?

- I do have a Photobucket archive

Well I got gatvol of filling and sanding so I started painting
As Geoff sugested Ididn't lighten the Humbrol 230 PRU blue.
Some pre-shading, not on all the pannels, just to break up the blue a bit.

I shot a coat of blue overall just to see if I missed any rough spots, will sand with some 2000 and do the brown /green.
I can't see that hu 29 dark earth is OK for this plane, same with the 30 Dark green. The earth the to dark and the green is to"blue" so I will have to lighten and paly arround to get the correct tone.

Just see what a PRU dak would look like :smt023

The bottom is supposed to be PRU and I use the paint ontop as a guide to see if my filling and sanding was OK before I mask off the bottom and do the rest of the cammo.

I need some good 3 views of the cammo pattern as aplied to 6855 please. I have looked at the SAAF forum pix, but there is still some confusion, especially what the inside of the engine cowls and necells looked like.

Was the sceeme the same on all the daks???

Thanx

Well,the Dak's ( camo), Dak's (maritime),Skymaster's,Shackleton's,Canberra's,Albatros's,Ventura (underside),Bucanneer,Mosquito,etc.,were painted by the SAAF with PRU Blue!

What is wrong with PRU Blue?

Theuns,

The Dak camo scheme all the engine cowls and nacelles were painted in Dark Earth to leading edge.
Make a turn here and I can show you the pattern, must learn (get a decent camera) to post pics here.

Not yet,hopefully soon,must first get a scanner.

The inside of the engine cowls was Cockpit Green, the outside of the engine cowls was Dark earth.

The paint scheme was a standard paint scheme for all SAAF Daks, except for 6859 which has a slight variation to the camo scheme,if you can spot the difference let me know.
But thats another story why it was painted like that

Ok,I'll join in with a Bucanneer (1/72) or maybe two and let's see what else.

For interest sake, the FS colours do not match to the BS colours, they are close but not the same.

Dave Becker and myself researched this subject way back in the 80's using colour charts of both FS and BS standards.

Remember the one FS ( Federal Standard) is American and the other BS ( British Standard Colour) is British.

In days gone by the Compucolour range of paint was the most correct for models until they went bang and Humbrol sorted out their formulation of the paints.

Testors ( Model Master) is American based and have their own formulation regarding the composition of the paint,pigments,etc..

Now to get back to some modelling.

2012 is truely the end of the world as we know it.............Geoff is actually going to build something
Was it a transport Buck then hey G?

Well I got the cammo on the Dak, freehanded it on, was way to lazy to mask it off

Looks Ok-ish, pix to follow. Just need to make the Sterla exhausts for it, the kit only supplies the normal ones.
