First entry -1/72 Heller DH-89 Rapide in SAAF silver sceeme

If time permits, 1/72 Italeri Lockheed Hudson in RAF Coastal command seccme (operated by SAAF crew)

First doing the 1/48 AMT Curtiss P-40N Warhawk as the Kittyhawk IV used by the o/c of 11 OTU 1945 in Port Elizabeth. Clour scheme is overall natural metal with a dark green anti glare panel.

Then time permitting doing the 1/48 Academy P-40C Tomahawk as the Tomahawk IIB used by SAAF 5 Squadron in North Africa. Colour scheme is mid stone/dark earth upper and azure blue underside.

I tried to build one 2 years ago. Everything was going well. After I applied the last clear coat I left it outside in the sun to dry. A few hours later I saw something white sticking out of my brothers dogs mouth.... Hope this one turns out better!!!!

Yes ! Finished opening the box ! 8)

And away they go.....

Here's the box - not the prettiest Spittie what with the cut down back and clipped wings. The Model is actually a MkXVIe, but I'll do it as a MkIXe which the SAAF used after WWII - only difference was a Packard built Merlin 266 fitted to the XVI

I'll be doing one in the colour scheme at the bottom, but with a red nose :D

Wings separated from sprue - note all the various cutouts - these are to accommodate the various wing armaments between the "c" and "e" wings. "e" wings had only the 20mm cannon outboard and the 0.5 calibers in board - no .303 pea shooters !
