Seems there's a sudden interest in Gerry aeries on the forum. So here's my contribution - the very nice Revell 32d scale Me Bf109G6. I'm going for an early G6 with the short vertical stabiliser and rudder and the square canopy :

First off, we'll start with the obligatory kit mods - the most important is that damn side opening box. Side flaps taped off and top cutaway to provide folding lid - there, most important kit mod done 8) :

Cockpit nicely detailed OOB but I added some artistic license to add some interest - I feel the experten gasp with horror .....:

The moulded in seat belt had to go - replace with HGW paper items :

Either they're all too mortified to respond or they're trolling around on Brimodeller, ARC etc.

Cockpit painted - all OOB except for the seat belts from HGW - really nice. The instrument panel was done using the kit provided decals :

Interesting way to assemble the wings. The upper wings are provided each side with an inboard and outboard section. Revell would have you glue the inboard section to the wing route first using the wing spar as a guide. I rather glued the inboard and outboard halves to eliminate any potential step. Once dry, I glued each upper wing half to the fuselage - the fit is great.

Check that wing root fit :

Here the undercarriage bays are being assembled - the one on the left side of the pic is done - really neat detail once painted and lower wing half glued in place :

The darker parts are res pieces from Quickboost to improve the kit parts :

Main undercarriage legs and gear doors. I added the brake lines and fastening straps :

Everything painted :

That looks great Mistral. Is this a new mould kit?

Hi AntMustard. It's about 10 years old but really great - fits well and nice OOB detail :smt023

So I've now painted it - RLM 74/75/76 using ModelMaster paints from their RLM series. Great paints. Gloss varnish using a mix of Tamiya acrylic X-22 thinned with Tamiya lacquer thinners. Decals are from EagleCals. They're just brilliant - settle down nicely with Micro Set / Sol. I got the eyes stuck down using a hairdryer and gently rolling down with a moist earbud dipped in MicroSet. Looks a bit bright at the moment with all that gloss around. Will tone it down with matt varnish and a mist coat of Tamiya X-20 neutral grey before I weather the dinges out of it....
