I started this kit some time ago but the mojo dip kept me from working on it. So now I will complete it and hope it to be a nice simple build.
The only extras I got was a PE set from Eduard for the thrust vector plates and some "grills" here and there.
I paited the engine area with alclad burnt iron.

Cockpit, simple easy

It is a big model, it is almost twice the size of the scooter!

Does the kit have clear or tinted canopy?

No, clear canopy, I had to tint it with yellow tamiya in future. Some people use gold alclad but it is not in my budget to buy that now.

I took a few drops of tamiya clear yellow enamel and mixed into future. The I just airbrushed it to the inside of the canopy. First few coats were just light mist coats to give the rest of the wet coats somthing to stick to. At first it seems to be slightly orange peel but as the future cures it becomes smoother. It took about 6 coats to get to this.

This Italeri F-22 is fighting me aal the way, the fit is as poor as it gets, either that or I can not build models...

I have come to the realization that I have very limited time and kits like these just waist it and drives my nuts.

SO, I will work on it between other kits, but will not really go to any great lengths to make it nice, just get it done.

I will however concentrate on kits that are a pleasure to build, afterall it is supose to be fun ;-)

Yoju cant quite see it in the pix, but the intakes have almost a 1/2mm gap that needs to be re-enforced before I can fill it.

Still hunting for this locally. All I can find is a milky substance, which doesnt work.

Hi T
I thought it was only my F22 that had bad fit. Agree, the F22 must be one of their worst fitting kits. I have vowed never to build another Italeri kit, except the Mir III that I have already purchased.
All I can say, hang in there, mine was on the dirt bin a couple of times, then removed it when coming home in the afternoon.

I have reboxed mine, the fit of the weapon bay doors make it unusable :(
