That is correct. Otherwise it will look odd having a weathered model, but the decals are factory fresh? Most of the time I seal it with a matt varnish, but sometimes, especially on a heavilly weathered model, I dont seal it... for better effect.

I always seal the pastel with matt/satin varnish.

The Aires resin exhaust is just peachy. Note the gap around the exhaust nozzle and rear fuselage - the real aircraft is just like that ! :
