 Post subject: Revell 1/48 Albatross DV

This is my forst try at wood effect.
desert yellow acrylic basecoat and chocolate brown enamel drybrushed over it.

On the WW1 fabric silver dope was rarely used and if a dark color was painten ontop of the wing with a light base color the outline would cast a shadow onto the bottom wing fabric but highly defused.

The plywood effect on the fuse worked out well and I will use the tecnique in the future. Oil paints is not something I used brfore but I have found them to work way better than pastels for me.
The trick is to apply it where you need and then blend it into the existing paint to make nice shadows loke I did on the ribtapes of the wing

clearcoat has toned everything dowl a tad, happy with it.

WW1 rubber wheels were not black but light grey before they used Vulcanixing :)
