So as promised, here's my build of Eduard 1:48 Mirage IIICZ. It's weekend edition with no add-ons. I will be using custom decal sheet. It was started some time ago so there's no photos of cockpit.
I came late from work today and didn't have enough energy to work on small F1AZ so I took this out of box. Kit itself required little bit more putty than I would like. So I spend around 2 hours with sanding and rescribing today

Bang seat out of box is really spartan.. Not so many details compared with rest of the cockpit. I have Aires seat in my stash for my second Eduard Mirage (profipack). I decided to detail it up using Tamiya putty, kabuki tape, stretched sprue, aluminium foil and lead wire.
Tomorrow I'll try to add straps and buckles.

I'm not sure. Is it the same colors as on Cheetah?
Is there any pics of that scheme from top, or something that can help me figure out the pattern?
Little progress made today, probably not very accurate, but at least it is busy. Side straps will be made tomorrow.

Hi patrikf

This is the thread you need, Madmax on this forum built an excellent grey Mirage IIICZ. Unfortunately photo's are gone because of photobucket's brain wave to stop free accounts.

No. Cheetah in greys. Mirage III more blue/blue grey.

Indeed and unique blues at that

So finally the colour goes on, but which colour? Piet "saafcolours" (recently Apollo) kindly let us know that the two colours involved are called "Highveld Grey" and "PE Blue". They are not a known quantity as they were locally developed, and I had to wing it based on various photographs. Firstly the lighter grey, Highveld... I came to the following mix with Tamiya acrylics: 2 Light Grey, 3 White, 5 Pink, 1/2 Blue. I then used this base colour to mix the PE Blue: 3 Highveld, 3 Pink, 1 Blue.

The best reference I have is Highveld Grey (FS36251), Mirage Grey (FS36076) and PE Blue (FS35164).
However the best is just to play with some Tamiya mix combinations :smt023

So I find some time in work and read whole thread of madmax build. Many thanks guys for your advices, I'll probably use same mix of Tamiya colors as advices in the thread.
And I'll also try to contact madmax if he still have some pics of his build :D
Also I finished seat yesterday. I never done something like this before and I hope it's not that bad..

Many thanks guys, I am just surprised with one thing.
I know that:
Delivery NMF had zinc chrome landing gear bays + panels
Sand + green scheme had aluminium landing gear bays
What color of landing gear bays should be on low viz mirage III? Does it depend on what aircraft is it (number)?
