I intend to do the blue cheat line next then mask it, then insert the windows. Will just remove a small area along the seam, when joining fuselage, then touch up with grey. I had contemplated masking the windows individually, that thought blew out my mind considering the number there are. The base coat is from a can, and it covers a large area too. Joining the fuselage will be interesting task too, do it in 'sections', most likely use Tamiya's Extra Thin as it has given me good results in the past when joining long sections, this one is about 46cm long seam x 2... I think we should pay a bit more to John at Scaleworx for a second set of small items in his goodies box, e.g. the RWRs, I almost lost two to the monster on the floor (lucky we only have tiles in our place), found it on my shirt (chest)..., my heart skipped a beat or two though. |

The Mr Colour (Acryllic No 30), 'Cobolt Blue, looked too much like the dark Air France cheatline, this weekend, decided to remove the original line, have been mixing different blues, with no good result. Found a can of Mr Colour 'Cobolt Blue '80', that I bought one day a while ago - it is much closer to the original delivery 'blue', think I'll be a bit happier once it has a coat of matt over it. Planning a second 707 in the not too distant future, will continue experimenting to see if I can have a closer result to the blue cheat line before then. I am open to any suggestions.... |
