Hi Guys & Girls,

Here is some shots of my F1AZ progress.

Thanks to Mistral, Kremlin, Portamus and Paul for all the info on the MER

The MER still needs a lot of work, I laminated .5mm styrene sheet to get to the correct thickness.
I will add detail etc next week as I will be going to Clarence tomorrow for a craft beer festival \:D/
Any comments and or critique will be welcomed.

I too will be watching with interest- I will eventually have 3 of the gorgeous AZs to build.

Keep 'em coming!

Looking good Sakkie. That resin front end looks the business. To think of all the time I spent carving mine out of a laminated block of evergreen stock  . Look forward to following your build :smt023

Hi Guys & Girls,

First off thanks for all the comments.

I did not do anything to the kit itself this evening but I did do some work on the MER, here some shots.
I am thinking about doing the bomb braces in photo etch but have not made up my mind yet, there is rough spots which will need some filler
I shot a coat of grey primer because the white plastic plays havoc with my eyes

Sweet, it's going to look really mean with some bombs attached :smt023

Hi Guys & Girls,

Here's some more progress shots

Bomb braces photo etched (sorry for the focus issue I had here  )
Image

Centreline pylon.... not quite done yet
Image

Wing pylon in progress, still lots to be done but thanks to Mistral I'm not quite so in the dark anymore.. Thanks Mistral
I need to make some changes to this thing, the rear end for instance as well as the depth of the bomb "space"
Tamiya putty does not work well for this kind of job, I'll try get some milliput or if that fails pratly putty before I continue with the pylon.

Got some work done on the model itself as well

 Bladerunner if you happen to browse through here... Maybe remove the seatbelts from the bangseats, I think anybody that builds one of your conversions should be able to add seatbelts using tape or whatever.

Thanks for looking guys

Interesting, I usually do the tape trick aswell, but doing John's seat in the 1/72 Cheetah (with moulded in belts) I found it to give a more realistic "feel" to it. Sure it is a pain to paint , but with a new very fine brush it looks good :D

Just my view :)

Hi T,

Yes in 1/72 braille scale it's a very different story, maybe just the 1/48 seats then?

Hi Guys & Girls,

Well the AZ is finished, I really enjoyed this build.
I have a long long way to go before I get even remotely close to what Mistral does with his models.
I may still add wingtip rails and missiles.
Here's the pics

Very nice ,I like the paintwork on it.
As a matter of interest, how different it the front fuselarge of the AZ to the CZ? I was under the impresion it is only the different pitot and the buldge for the radar ranger?

Those new school colours are very cool.

Theuns
ps, my seat for the Cheetah build was also in 1/72 scale, it just takes very carefull painting and a new sharp tip brush.

The only thing I can say that I would have done (and this is purely nitpicking and pedantic from my side  ) is that it almost looks like the castle on the right intake sits a little croocked ,maybe it's the angle the pic was taken.
The only other thing I would have done extra was to do a pannel wash on the rudder hindge and maybe the bottom to try and give a bit of "life" to the single collour.
As I say, no critique, just my own rivetcounting ways
