Happy New Year everyone - it’s been a while since posting on the forum. One of my New Years resolutions is not to focus on extending the stash so much but rather on reducing them by building them. Life is too short to have a stash of models uncompleted. One must enjoy them while you are alive and where you can appreciate them. \:D/

The first one on my list for 2012 is the 1:48 JAS 39 Gripen twin seater. This build will be out of the box. I already started on the ejection seats last night. I’ll take photos over the weekend of the progress and post it soon.

Cheers
Rickus

Cool! are you going for the SAAF sceeme?
IIRC the kit has the decals for it .Are they correct" I think the eagles in the 1/72 Grippen kit ALL look the the left :?
That has kept me away from that "out the box" kit.

Looking forward to the pix

Hi Theuns.

I’ll be dong the kit in the SAAF scheme. In fact, I’m trying to do all my models in SAAF schemes. In my personal opinion there is no better scheme than our countries, especially the camo schemes. Yes you are right; the eagles do face the same way. I think I must order a sheet of cookie cutters. The flags and Squadron insignia seems to be correct.

You know what, I think I must give Zane a call...

Also, the SA flag on the vertical stabilizer is way too big and the eagles can do with a bit more detail. They look like something that was sprayed on with a stencil.

Looking forward to your build Wingman!

Nico

Hope you have fun building it. Nothing wrong with a bit of a challenge, as it improves your skills. :smt023

Cheers

Ok, so it seems a little scratch building will be required. :? I draw some lines to assist with adding some detail inside the cockpit. The existing seat belts will also be failed off to make place for some new ones.
