and Im a shopaholic.

Bought a hobby boss 48 scale Rafale M yesterday... oh the shame...

and the joy.... \:D/ there is just something about these damn sexy french jets... =P~

too bad I wont get to build her for quite some time.

I have had quite a revelation this morning. I dug out some of my old scale models to use in my lectures/briefings... and if I look at how far my model building has come since then... just wow.

Chalk and cheese. My old spits p-51s and fw190s all suffer from lack of filler, glue finger prints, seams lines... sprue edges... misalligned camo patterns (I used to paint 'em on the sprues)...

To now with my almost irritating quest for perfection... on my Mirages. Hard to believe, that two models are literally 5 years apart time wise... but lighyears apart in every other aspect.

Will snap pics when I get a chance to.. Im heading back up to George today...

oh well.

Yep, I'm guilty as far as that is concerned too. In the last 2 weeks I've bought 2 x Heller 1/48 Mirage 3C/B's, an Eduard Mirage 2000C, Heller Mirage 2000B, Monogram Mirage 2000C, 2 eduard Mirage 3C's... And I'm still in the mood to spend

My name is Jeffreynic, and I'm a shopaholic.
O.K.!!! Lets start a shopaholic annonimous?

My wife asked my a few times, what is that lot worth? What do I do with that lot if you died for what ever reason? How do I know what is of any value?
I have just over 65 kits, and have never paid full price. 4 Italeri F-86 kits for $2.20 each, had to grab them. 2 Italeri Mirage F-1 for $13.60 each, should have grabed more #-o
1/48 B-29 & B-17 are huge, from a shop closing down, 40% off, not sure if I want them anny more.
Now I want 1/48 Airfix Canberra.

Delta French birds, 2 Eduard's, Hobby Boss, 2 Heller, ESCI & Acadomy.

None yet, but I have one of my Flankers set aside for that, as well as a Mirage 2000. I'd like to do the aircraft that the French brought over to AAD a few years back (with some SAAF markings) when the M2k was an entrant in the new fighter procurement process. Only trouble is, I can't find the pictures I saw online some time back... Hopefully I'll stumble accross them again.

Hi there gents,

Good to see Im not the only one battling with this (financially) crippling addiction!!

Kremlin, the course is going well, thanks for asking... we're going to be doing the first of our patter flights starting tomorrow.. so all the kak lecturing part of the course is behind us...

its going to be interesting flying from the right hand seat... and flying a C152 again... havent flown one in ages... gonna be a marked change down from a Seneca II. lol....

With regard to painting my Rafale... well the jury is still out on that one... but seeing as it is an M and we dont have carriers Ill most likely do her (hehe) up in French naval colors. Im just itching here to get home and start building..... oh and of course.. spending time with Mrs. Portamus.. lol. :smt023
