This kit I had loads of hassles with rather crappy fit on the upper front turtle deck , I had to sand the heavy raised detail off on the ribs aswell as fuse, this was then re scribed and looks allot better.
I have also found that PVA glue makes rather nice easy wingroot fairings

The prop needs tome shapng on the rear part at the roots, they are way to "angular"

As for the paint I wanted to do silver dope but the decals are wrong for this and I went for the east Africa colours.
The brown is HU29 with a little white and the HU30 called for in the plans I think looks to blue so I went for HU 163. There is just enough shading between the ribs and pannels showing through and the look is very faded, quite happy with that.

My Maternal Grandfather was an Aircraft carpenter/fabric (like me) in East and North Africa ,Siccily and Italy maitaining and repairing these tipes of aeries an I plan to do a base for this model on his WW2 medals,

Very nice Theuns, makes it so much more special when there is a family connection.

Very nice.

Incidentally K5674, G-CBZP which flies in the UK has South African history.

I tried doing the rigging with spru , I had success with this in the past. Then this morning I dropped the model and most of the sprue came loose along with the top wing so I removed it all and will have to do the rigging with ez line once I get cyno.
