The next IPMS National Championships are being help in Kimberley at the Horseshoe Hotel, over the weekend of 21/23 September in conjunction with the NNL. The NNL is a car,bike,truck modellers convention held annually, the IPMS Nationals are held more of less bi-annually.
Anyone interested in attending from the George area, can contact me for details of the events contact Gerhard Van Vuuren @ [email protected];

We at IPMS Pretoria have encouraged all who have the means to go and represent. Even those that cannot go to send kits with those who are...thus far one one guy (of 40 members) is going through. The IPMS website has no info about the event though.
AAD 2012 is the same weekend.

Hi Guy's yes it is a pity that it's the same weekend as AAD but then, how many airshows can you/would you go to where you get the same old, same old? Is there really going to be anything new to see?
Ok the cost of fuel and accommodation for the Kimberley weekend has to be taken into account. However it is the National Championships,
the pinnacle of scale plastic modelling in the country. Where you actually get to chat to guys rather than point your head skywards and gawk!
