Updating a old topic.

Which paint range currently offers the the best SAAF colour options for particularly Deep Buff, bronze green/Olive Drab, and Light Admiralty Grey?

Careful mixing of Tamiya enamels / acrylics / lacquers. Best paints on the market freely available in SA

As mentioned through this thread, the 'sun' took its toll on SAAF aircraft, ultimately I believe that chasing the exact match will drive one crazy, it is the builders artistic representation that IMHO should achieve his or her desired effect, factory look, weathered, sun faded etc...

I tend to use Tamiya (mixes) and Vallejo too. Works for me...

Thanks Spice

This is the same conclusion that I have come, everyone seems to have their own formula. Having said the there are certain cases of distinct differences in colour specification.

Another finding is that in general modellers are moving more to arcylic paint systems, so whilst its one thing to try and get the right colours it also depends in what paint range you want to invest in.

Hi Mars

HATAKA do a very nice range of acrylics. They are readily available here in the UK but not sure about SA. I have 2 sets, haven't tried them yet but have heard some good reviews.
