Hi guys,

Busy with correcting and detailing the 1/32 Italeri Mirage IIIE to a SAAF Mirage IIIEZ.
Here's some pics of the work done so far. Original parts displayed next to modified ones.

The Martin-Baker Mk.BRM4 ejection seat will be a resin copy of the same one I built quite a while ago.

The ATAR 09C will also be a resin copy of the same one I built some time ago.

Thanks Theuns :)

The angle of the rudder hinge line on the kit is not correct, and the bottom of the rudder is too high up. First the rudder actuator fairing was removed, as it needs correction too. Then I glued the rudder in place, making it easier to mark the new lines. The resized rudder was then cut out, and filling done with Tamiya putty. Here's a picture of the original tail fin, and the progress on the corrected one below it.

Cheers

Work in progress on the JL-100 rocket pods, with the kind assistance of "Battlebirds Models" lathing the basic shapes :)

Main wheels tread added, which also sorts out the increased diameter required.

Nice John. Was wondering how it was going. Are you going to cast an entire vertical stab ?

Hi Malcom,

Yes, the tail fin and rudder will have to be cast, as it's not an easy task to modify.
Some more progress has been made.

Looking good. Didn't realize that the diameter of the main wheels were that far off. This will present an interesting conundrum: as it is, the main landing gear legs are too long. I had to shorten the oleo portion on my last build to get a slightly more nose up stance. Will now need to be shortened even more.

Which Facebook page?

Think you should buy it ... purely for research of course!

A bit pricey for me, but would look cool in the man cave!
