The SAAF's 1 Air Servicing Unit (1 AD in the old days) renders FÚLL D-Level maintenance support to the C-130BZ fleet, & executes ÁLL C-130BZ up to Major servicing at their MRO Division, aided by DENEL

Quote:
1 ASU does the WHÓLE spectrum: engine, airframe, propellers, ÁLL components (including landing gears, wheels, brakes, screw jacks for flaps & main gears, we also execute ÁLL NDT/NDE inspections on the WHÓLE aircraft Sir - DENEL does have members employed in collaboration with the SAAF members working at the MRO, so 1 ASU does Majors as well

Quote:
2asu detached services the dac fleet AND took over the F - servicing from Denel, so 2asu services oryx as well now

We busy with our first oryx f-servicing(major service) and getting an upgrade on the system

Buccaneer bombs:

David
Quote:
The loading of the bombay was a mission in itself. Not enough space so the tails had to be manipulated after loading into the correct release order. Many holes in my legs and back from arming wires.

Gripen cannon:

David
Quote:
the 27mm Mauser loads very fast. No need to remove the ammobox like in Cheetah. And then it's only one cannon in Gripen with the two in Cheetah.

I think accuracy is also much better

Q: At what range would Rooivalk fire its unguided rockets and 20mm at a target on real Operations?

A: Cannon from 500m to 2500m, rockets normally 2000m to 6000m
