Good-day folks. I'm posting the following notice well in advance: Regetably, there will be NO engine ground run next Saturday, 27 October 2018 and, for now, no ground runs will be executed until further notice. The reason being, is that there are certain administrative aspects that need to be addressed. This, in itself, will take some time. We kindly request that you will bide time with us, until that, which needs to be completed, has been dealt with. Having said that, we are hereby not going to go into detail and no negotiations or explanations will be entered into.

We trust and hope that you will understand. We regret any disappointments that might have been created. Thanking you.

Good-day folks and all Shackleton enthusiasts. By now a great number of you have been wondering, (and some might have been in the know), as to why there has been such a long delay since the last engine ground run, in October, last year.

Well, due to a strict safety policy that the SAAF endeavours to uphold, in all spheres, be it air or ground related, it has become necessary to encompass the Shackleton engine ground runs within this safety policy as well. A number of factors had to be addressed, especially on account of the great attendance by the public at these events.

Some of you might also have heard through the grapevine that there was going to be an engine ground run this coming Saturday, 29 March 2019. That was so and it was my intention to notify you all today, as such, once I had received confirmation from Uncle Pottie that the aircraft is ready. I so much wish that I could have told you that it is definitely so.

However, another unfortunate, but important, hurdle has come into the path for Saturday and that is the none-availability of an ambulance and crew to be on stand-by during the ground run. Humble apologies for this inconvenience and my request, on behalf of the team, is for you to kindly spread the word of NO (repeat) NO ground run taking place this coming Saturday.
