C'mon guys. Need some info please. Shack ground run ???? Want to visit the Shack hangar if possible as well. My brother (ex SAAF Imp / Bosbok jockey) is here from Dubai. Would be nice to show him the collection.

What can I say :?: That was just great seeing a Shack do a ground run. The feeling of 8,000 hp beating on one's chest is an amazing sensation. Thanks to the SAAF Museum, the Friends and Major Jayden King (of Swing) for being so welcoming. We arrived at the Museum and were met with friendly greetings, morning coffee, muffins and boerie rolls. And then of course the veterans of the Shackleton who keep the old girl running. She is simply too magnificent for words and is a real time capsule. The green leather seats reminds me of those old SAR coaches. And all those old valve technology avionics. I reckon if they made her today with modern materials, one could save a whole couple of kilograms :smt023 .

And a word on the new display hall in the Museum : World class wall displays showing the history of the SAAF and all the aircraft which it operated. Thanks to all involved in maintaining the proud heritage of the SAAF. :smt023 :D

Thanks for joining us Mistral, it is always good to see someone from the forum. A small crowd this month compared to the 600+ we had in September but it was a really great bunch that came through. Spot yourself if you can.

I think the Radio Operators station is located behind the bulkhead aft of the cockpit (Port side).

Did you take any photographs from the galley going towards the rear of the aircraft as well?
