Ok, so I am starting a new thread spinning of from the Waterkloof Air Show thread. Think we were hijacking it a bit.

So here is what I have found out so far.

The following serials are the aircraft been put up for sale. Obviously these are all the air frames Aerosud have purchased.

216 - Still in SA. And used by Aerosud for testing.
219 -
218 -
219 -
220 -
225 -
226 -
227 - Static display at Waterkloof. Engine less and no seat, but air frame also up for sale though.
229 - This used to be 1 Squadrons official "Mascot" aircraft.
230 -
231 -
232 -
233 - The Demonstrator (Blue and Yellow) Flown at Military Air Shows. Is also indicated as being for sale. So this also poses the question as to weather this aircraft is really just on loan to Aerosud by the SAAF Museum.
236 - Sold to Gabon and delivered in Nov 2007
237 -
238 -
239 - Sold to Gabon and delivered in Aug 2006
240 -
241 - Sold to Gabon and delivered in Aug 2006
242 -
243 -
244 - Sold to Gabon and delivered in Nov 2007
247 -

Anybody that can help shed some light as to where these aircraft are, and which ones are sold.

There is allot of speculation as to how many have been sold. I read last night on a document (Which now I can not freaking find #-o ) that a total of 12 have been sold to Gabon, of which the last two were taken delivery of as recent as last year. Which 12 are sold...if 12.

Airfire, please read the heading of this topic and the very first post....this thread is about the F-1's sold to Aerosud, and we are trying to establish which serials have been sold. it has got nothing to do about where the current SAAF Mirages are.

I created this topic specifically for that because we were hijacking the Waterkloof Air Show thread.

If you would like to talk about the F-1 CZ's and where they currently are...then you are more than welcome to start your own thread about it. Cause this thread is all about the SAAF Mirages sold to Aerosud. So their business, and what they do there is exactly what we want to find out about.

219 is part of the batch on offer for sale by Aerosud. It is probably being stored at Hoedspruit AFB.

yes 21 were sold to Aerosud........but not to Gabon.....SAAF sold the 21 F-1 AZ frames to Aerosud, as they were to re sell them to other countries. Initially they were all suppose to get the Super Upgrade.
