During a discussion on an Air Force group, I noticed that on this site, Mirage F1 AZ 221 was noted as damaged and later joined to Mirage F1 CZ 206. As far as I can recall, #221 was damaged when Rickus de Beer did a forced landing, but it was repaired and returned to service. In 1992 # 221 had a bird ingestion and was lost when the pilot ejected. My team designed a repair scheme to join the aft section of 206 to the fwd section of 205. This was long before 1992. #221 was not part of this repair. |

Many thanks, attrition summaries corrected! Not sure how the incorrect info appeared for 221, but appreciate the heads up. |

It is not easy to keep track (especially after the fact) of all these events and happenings! I hope somebody involved with #221 repair would add to this? |
