The fuel tank looks remarkably chunky from this angle, just about as wide as the front fuselage.

Viewed from the front the drop tanks are almost rectangular in shape.

There are a few more to go. Its just such a pity, 2020 was shaping up to be a great air show year. We certainly got off to a great start.

Unfortunately this was only one of three photos I got of the bomb release for a couple of reasons.

1) Bomb drop was part of the ground sequence and was not well announced.
2) The Gripens and Hawks came in much higher than I was expecting, and quietly. It was difficult to pick them up.
4) The release was behind the tower. The problem was that by the time I picked up the jet the bombs were on their way.
5) The bomb runs happened in very quick succession, trying to capture the release and the effect was challenging because one has to point the camera in opposite directions very quickly.

Not that it is impossible to get right, its just that practice is needed to get a technique that works.
