Hi,

Have joined today :-)

Do have "some" knowledge of the Harvard and have several (all ?) books that were published in South-Africa about this wonderfull, and (lovely) noisy training aircraft. Living only a few kilometers away from the most densily populated Harvard area in The Netherlands; three active and four projects stored.

Now busy collecting data for a "return to the air" project in France of a former SAAF Harvard. Was wondering if one can direct me to a source where to find the SAAF record of this particular aircraft, 7384.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Benno, The Netherlands

Benno T6, welcome to the page.

What data are you looking for?

There is not much on record ( SAAF) for this particular Harvard 7384.

The aircraft was manufactured at the Inglewood plant of North American Aviation and shipped to Cape Town on 20 April 1943 from New York aboard the SS Dalhem, berthing on 5 June 1943.

Hi Geoff,

Thank you.

Besides the arrival info (thanks for that!) I am looking for information about service in the SAAF (which unit, where), flying hours and when it left South-Africa. Most sources state that it was returned to the RAF, as EX602, but I expect this only to have been an admin action and that the Harvard went to Belgium, without returning to the UK.

Looking forward to receive any additional information.

Regards,

Benno
