Yes, I just confirmed independently that the cancellation is due to the elections. :(

There are large sign boards on the R21 advertising the event, so its still on.

SAAF Museum Airshow, I got an Email from Airshow SA stating new Airshow date is 8 June, SAAF museum media contact denying the date.

Overall good show:

Positives:
1. Que time was very quick, at least for me. arrived at 8, went through one of the upper gates. pre bought tickets meant zero wait time.
2. Weather first half was cold and overcast but created vapour effects on the jets, something we almost never see at Gauteng airshows
3. New display items from the SAAF. Oryx capability demo, PC 12 & Caravan formo, SAAF fastjet capability demo. Are they gearing up for SAAF 100?
4. Silver Falcons flew a reduced display with 4 aircraft, however the formations were tight with a new sequence or two.
5. The return of Menno Parsons.
6. Crowd line was longer?
7. Special mention has to go to the SAAF Museum Helicopter team, every year they put on a dynamic and unique display. This year was no exception.

Negatives:
1. Organization seemed to be a bit below par.
2. Program was released very late.
3. Opening ceremony was long-winded and drawn out
4. Commentary was poor, possibly because of the above. Aircraft would enter the display box unannounced, and then almost haphazard commentary would start a few minutes later. This made planning for the day difficult.
5. litter was a problem.
6. There weren't enough toilets, there were long ques and conditions weren't pleasant with no real regard for privacy. I don't recall this ever being a problem in the past.
7. Not enough coffee vendors, resulting in long ques.
