Post subject:	Any Soviet TU-95 "Bear" patrols Angola / SWA?
Firstly, seasons greetings to everyone here. My question is regarding the afore mentioned subject. It's clear the navy and air force encountered Soviet shipping transiting the coast, "trawlers" and I think Sovremennyy class destroyers but did they commit this aircraft to any aerial surveillance activities in the Angolan / SWA, or even SA region?

IIRC, Soviet airforce Bears patrolled between Cuba and Angola.

Correct, the region was regularly patrolled by Soviet Tu-95 Bears.

More than trawlers and destroyers. I was on two task force shadowings. Picked them up near Cunene and shadowed to Punto de Ouro. EW boys were always picking up snoop tray radar signatures. More Russian hardware was present off SA than many realise.

Yes. Much more Soviet and other naval activities along the coast, both Western and Eastbloc. Various Soviet naval vessel types, not only the single type listed inn1st post...
