Air Apprentice
BANKS, D L
Service Number 4767

Died 07/10/1939

South African Air Force

Son of Mr and Mrs J Banks, of Bloemfontein.

His full name is David Lawrence Banks

He was Born 22 Feb. 1918

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/179 ... ence-banks

Also, his death certificate is on FamilySearch

He died of a fractured skull and laceration of Brain as a result of an aeroplane crash in which he was an observer

He died in Volks Hospital in Cape Town on 7 Oct 1939

So the only outstanding question is what plane (probably SAAF) crashed on or around this date?

Any idea ?

Many Thanks

Paul
