Are/were there any Dragonfly (A-37) or Tweet (T-37) units in SAAF?

No, your model would have to be in the "what if" category.
Depending on the date you have in mind could take inspiration from the Sabres, Vampires or even Impala colour schemes.

That's what I suspected. The Aermacchi's offer a nice range of versions (ground attack, trainer and even the flight demonstration team), so I might go with one of those paint jobs.
