Saw photos of an Oryx and an A-109 in Mozambique on Twitter.

Nice opportunity for the A-109 to stretch it's legs so to speak. If memory serves during the 2000 floods the Alo III wasn't deployed only Oryx and BK-117.

I wonder how the A-109 stacks up against the above mentioned two helicopters given the SAAF's criticism of it's hot and high performance, in this particular operation?

Well the floodplains in Mozambique are definitely not hot and high, so it should be performing ok.
