My Ab seems to be getting bubbles in the paintcup and building pressure inside the cup. Air leacking past the nozle seal maybe??

Not sure where to get spares for my "Air craft" make AB....damn my luck with models is crappy!

Theuns it's the residue from all that Alclad you push through your airbrush

Best to strip it and spend 10 minutes with a nice solvent cleaning all parts including the barrel section through which the needle travels.

BTW, that's why I went back to a Badger. Jix keeps spares. I'll use my Aircraft until it breaks anyway. The Badger is my backup.

Malcom I checked all this morning, the Orings in the AB seems to be hard and brittle, things dont move so well anymore and when I tried to remove the nozle ring it just broke up.
I see aviation shop sells an oring set for it so will give it a try.

I laos have a Badger 100lg, it is nce but just the tip assembly cost me more than the air craft AB. I have used my air craft for about 5 years now and sofar had worked well.

Hope it is just the o rings....

Good morning Theuns,
I am also using the AirCraft air brushes without any problems so far.
I do get a lot of joy from Dennis at http://www.esswex.co.za. The contact number is on the website.
Speak to him he is very willing to assist. Last time I spoke to him he had O-ring sets in stock.

Regards.

Johan Redelinghuys

Theuns, Check the nozzle tip and assembly in that area. had the same issue with an aircraft airbrush because the tip had a crack in it.

After pure desperation I pyt some thread tape on the nozle assembly inplace of the O ring. It doesnt make bubles anympre but now the trigger fpr pressure is giving me hassles, hope to get this fixed so I can buy some time till I can get another one.

It also does not have as fine a spray fan as it use to have, maybe with all the fiddling I suffed it up beyond economical repair :(

Theuns, that sounds like a cracked nozzle or Nozzle housing.

I had a similar problem with one of my older AirCraft airbrushes. I binned it out of frustration.

Herman has Iwatas  :!: 8). This is how things escalate - now I'll have to get some too.

Was worth every cent.

Actually got three now.

HO the High Performance C plus which I got from Pegasus.
Then got a Revolution BR from a closing down sale at a local Art shop. Went for R700 where normal price is R2200
And then got the HP-M as a gift. This one is very useful in spraying metallics like Alclad etc.

Another Airbrush to look out for is the Ultimate APEX airbrush. Did some test spraying with it, and found it very easy to handle and clean. It also got progressive needle system, which takes some time getting used to but works like a charm. I found this specific brush sprays paints that I had issues with on the other brushes without a problem.

I still have a leak at my air rtigger I need to find, it is intermittent :?
The needle assembly I had on must have been damaged so I had to get another one and the results are much better.

I really hope the AB expences are now over....it hit my modling budget hard :(

As for cleaning afterwards, I also got some tamiya AB cleaner, I initially thought it is a gimick, but acourding to the guy at Aviation shop it is the best thing to use.
