I have seen the range of Humbrlos weathering powders and washes, looks interesting I might have to give it a try sometime

I was amazed to see how well the washes "wick" into the pannel lines with just toutching it in a few places :smt023

I use the Humbrol, they are very strong though, easy to overdo it.

Just so, I used it on my ME-109 Build, and almost had a fright how 'strong' it is.

I reckon the most effective way to highlight panel lines is using dry chalk pastels. Gives a nice faded effect to the panel line. I find pin washes too "linear". Panel line weathering is seldom linear, they are dark fading away into the panel. Look at any pic of a low vis grey combat aircraft. Pin washes have their uses like for very localized darkening of recesses e.g cockpit interiors or bolt groups, say for example, on a helicopter's rotor hub. Only issue with pastels is it's time consuming, but you can build the effect up using various greys, Browns and raw umber. Anyway my 2c worth....
