I like that part ...

I hope you are like 17 years old, because if you are older there is no way in hell that you will be able to build all those before you are 70 and shaking like a leaf.

Just joking, Ports. I slowly starting my stash, we'll compare notes on stashes in 12 month's time.

Now, hide this comment from the wifey ...

Model room clean out of stash!! The kits are what I have yet to start and after donating 65 kits to junior modellers in the Wellington area. Stacked waist high in the spare room while I dust and clean the store room - kits are mix of 1/72, 1/48, 1/50 and 1/32 scales and number 253 kits!

Mistral, the Nichimo is an absolute gem of a kit!!

I thought I was getting royally ripped off by the shop where I got the Herc and C172 from, but seeing as I only paid R255 or so for the Nichimo, and it sells for +$100 online most of the time.. I reckon it balances out. The Herc was way overpriced but also as rare as an honest politician. (I've only ever seen a single C-130E/H in 48, and I bought it after much deliberation). The guy at the shop actually told me to take the C172 over the Herc because it is a much much more valuable kit (in the long run). The only things my kit is missing, are the pilot/crew figures, but it has the much more important electric motor.

I'll post an inbox review after Wed if anyone is curious. When I do build it, it will be a wonderful 'chicken stick' demonstration model for me to use in my lectures. Maybe.

Iamsam... some of the kits I've had since before I was 17!!! The Catalina, P-47D, P-51C, I got before I finished school... so must be 10 years now at least (for the Cat much more!). I am going to be all of 27 later this year.. So plenty of time to build yet.
You'll also need to slowly start to persuade your significant other, that spending money on plastic, is a far better alternative to spending money in the pub with ye mates (you only pissing it away anyways  ). I am very fortunate that my girlfriend understand my desire to learn about each aircraft I build, and she would much rather me spend money on models than pc games. I'm a hopeless BF3 addict as well... the troubles of my generation #-o

Vlamgat.. your stash doesnt look too shabby either. I see one or two kits in there that I would happily add to my own if I ever found them. I spy, with my little eye.... that Gripen kit, a Mirage 3 B/C, a few Skyhawks, two Pumas, and a Tempest.

That Hawkeye is quite a cool kit, can't say I'd ever buy and build one.. but maybe one day.

I am always curious to see what other guys collect...

Except for the B-26 which I got in a shop recently, this is my new stash as of Monday in 3 parcels off ebay. The F-86 is a replacement for a deformed part. They are all 1/48 exept for the Shack. The supplier who replaced the F-86, has a pile of Shackleton's, they are molded in Russia, and he boxed him. I think this is the olnly mold of a Shack in 1/72, appearing under many brands. Modelcraft boxing includes SAAF decals. He say's he also has a lot of 1/48 Harvards.

To my wife if she finds out, I will blame Mistral for the purchse of the B-26 & A-20.
The Ar-234 is about $60 in the shops, I got it for $16, times must be hard?

I am only building at such a rate as I am trying to keep from going insane thinking that I have not been able to start on the new work contracts I was bargaining on for more than 2 months now
