So I was browsing the Jeffery Stein site and discovered two things (they're news to me, at least)....

Tamiya have just issued a new 1/32 Spitfire... an XVIe....

and is she a beauty or what!!!!!

Also... Italeri have just seen fit to reissue their 1/48 F1C kit.. sadly the AZ nose is missing from the sprue... as with their last edition.

The Italeri F1C kit has been available for a while now, I got 2 from the Aviationshop about 2 months back.

Yeah right,
You'll have to break your piggybank, because you've been trying to get one for almost three years now :smt044 . All your money is spent on your lady and visiting her.

By the way, how are things at work? We still need to get together for a braai someday and kill a few beers.

Cheers
John

Ja, just splashed R1,200 on one from Jix ! But I think well worthwhile - have built the Tamiya 32nd scale Mk.IX highback. The Mk XVIe is a short conversion to a post war SAAF Mk IXe - as far as I understand, the only difference between an LF IXe and a XVIe was that the latter had the US built Packard Merlin 277.

Here's a pic of the Mk IX in French markings (as used in south east Asia in the early 50's) :

What are the bits protruding through the wings behind the canon bulge?
