Guess what, the Navy are already advertising the 2016 Navy festival, hope the early start is a sign of lots of good things coming!

Yes, it is later than usual.
But they have also added an extra day...
As always...we hope it's a good sign.
Maybe because F147 will probably only be back by then as well?
Not forgetting the second new tug that is due to be delivered early next year...

I really think they need to put a real impressive show soon. They've been pretty mediocre over the last few years, IMHO.

Pleasure :)

Navy festival is always well worth the visit. My only problem is always the long queues to get on a ship, especially the subs! Will make sure im there early this time. Oh, and i somehow always manage to miss the night shoot, dont ask :)

oh mars, you must keep on eye on the Navy website (www.navy.mil.za), they always post relevant detail and the program in the last week or so. Theyre the only part of the DOD that actually keep they're webpage relatively up to date.

Can anyone confirm the German Navy will be here for Navy festival.

Listed on the program -

German navy ships and submarines open to the public

I think this must be an error. Doubt a foreign navy would ever open up their submarine to the public.

Actually, they do...i've been on HMS Turbulent when she was here.
Just like any other sub...they cover their monitors. Our subs do the same during public displays.

I do doubt though, that the Germans will be here.
They were here last year...

Evening Gents.

Do you know if they will be doing a nightshoot on the Saturday? Would love to attend that.

Also where would the best spot be to watch this?
