That is kind of normal. Outfitting can take ages and when a ship is launched it's often just the hull and superstructure that's been completed.

We took a quick trip to the V&A Waterfront this evening to see the South Africa Ocean Festival Lighted Boat Parade ... & we spotted the Jetovator :D

The South African Navy’s second Damen ATD 2909 Tug Inyathi seen outside the Damen Shipbuilding Cape Town facility last Thursday. It is due for delivery in Simon's Town in early 2016.

Just read that RMS St. Helena left Cape Town yesterday en-route to the island. This remarkable ship will only be in service for a few more months.

Two cruise liners in the harbour today. The Seven Seas Voyager is in the main harbour so could not get any photos and the MV Aegean Odyssey https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Aegean_Odyssey is in the waterfront

It would be seriously awesome to one day see a fast three-masted ship (schooner, brigantine, etc.) flying the SAN Ensign and based at the Naval Academy in Gordon's Bay.
Not likely to happen within my lifetime though... :cry: :cry: :cry:
