The Brazilian Navy Hydrographic research ship, "NHOc Cruzeiro do Sul (H-38)", seen in the V&A Waterfront on the 17th November. It's not a grey warship, but sytill an interesting one ... Built by Longvamek Verksted in Norway as a high seas fishing vessel, named Havskjell Viking. She is operated by the Brazilian Navy since 2007. Cheers |

She docked yesterday. Possibly the reason for the USN C-130 arriving USNS Henson (T-AGS-63), Pathfinder class oceanographic survey ship. Cheers |

This may seem a silly question (I'm a landlubber after all) but why are survey ships painted white even though they are military vessels? |

Red and White is traditionally Coast Guard colours. A Coast Guard's primary role is armed law enforcement. |

The FNS Floreal (F-730) docked on the 18th March. She carries 2 x Exocet MM38 missiles. The 100 mm CADAM turret. Nothing like a 200 ton crane to ruin the mountain scene. Cheers |

I doubt she will still be here From docking on the 18th, providing she stays here till after the festival, that would be around 17 days in port .. Would be nice though, myself & the mrs haven't been on a French ship since FNS Garonne in 1997, the Navy 75th festival |
