I have just read (on Facebook) that HRH Princess Anne visited Simon's Town on 18th April 2012.

I briefly saw the picture of the capsized boat on the front of a paper at the checkout today - but did not read it.

Cronies tell me the navy band was out to welcome her and she had to shake the usual hands of the usual suspects.

Suggest you parse the difference between "making idiots of themselves" and "they're idiots".

When one reaches a certain rank these things are like chicken pox - one gets them almost automagically. You make an official visit to a foreign country and they feel it their duty to pin another one on you.
