I did not bother looking at this thread till today, as I had expected, a Russian news article flinging dung at an anti Russian aggression nation.
Privatization is not an experiment as the heading suggests, it is nothing new. It has been done thousands of times, Air Canada employees had to start working for a living when they were privatized in 1988, no more milking the tax payer.

Looking at that table, I pay 8,39 US cents per KWh, really?
Just paid my ellectricty bill from a private provider, converting it to US currency I pay 6,7 US cents per KWh
On top of that the provincial government (via the bill) pays me back 10% for using less than 3 000KWh / month, so I'm down to 6,03c /KWh.
For heating water and heating our home, we use gas, cheaper than electricity.
So how accurate is the table for for German electricity?
Balerits first table was 35c/KWh (2011), the second is 18,8c/KWh (2013) and could be almost 2 years old. And Pepster says otherwise, he should know as he is in Munchen. (lucky bum

You can throw in another factor into costs around the world. What things cost vs salary.
The province I'm in, the minimum wage is C$11,00 / hour.
German salaries as far as I know are pretty high by world standards.
