F**ing hell.

I woke up early specifically to watch the game against Los Pumas - I should have stayed in bed. I don't know what it is but I seem to curse every game of theirs that I watch?

Springboks just don't seem to run out determined to play their best possible game - which is the primary reason why they will never be as good as the All Blacks. It really does my head in having to hurl abuse at the TV so early in the morning.

H, ja what can I say? A truely kak game.

But there was a VERY good reason or rather, reasonS for that.

1. Steve Walsh did not have a clue what was happening on the field, and once his comms to the TMO was lost he knew even less. He even forgot the new scrum calls, swore at least twice, audible to the viewers and ran into at least 5 players, apologising profusely. And on the matter of apologising. Any game where the ref apologises to the captains for wrong or kak calls more than twice shows he has no clue.

2. The Pumas applied their infamous, delay and conquer technique to a great level of success. And their cleaning out, although not always legal, was extremely effective.

3. Los Pumas played hard and dirty. Off the ball incidents, eye goughing, biting, etc.

4. Willem Alberts forgot how to play rugby. Wtf? Did he carry the ball even once?

5. Ruan pienaar is slow! At every single ruck it took him way too long to clear the ball, and he is one dimensional; he either kicks or passes. No short side snipes, no wrap around running. Piss poor.

6. Mendoza Stadium is da voodoo!

Look in a competition like this any win is a good win, and getting a win after not being the best team on the park, speaks of a LOT of character and heart. I have always maintained; playing with your heart far outweighs talent and ability, and our boys should some true grit!

Well done, boys. It wasn't pretty, but we won.
